Owing to a series of funding cuts we are currently only available to offer advice at our two main offices in Hanley and Bentilee. We are constantly looking for new funding, in the hope that we can deliver advice from various locations throughout the City.
We have always recognised the value of taking services out into the city’s neighbourhoods, to reach the people who need them most. These sessions can address the needs of particular groups, and we have been working with the well established Asian and African Caribbean communities in Shelton and Cobridge for a number of years.
Outreach sessions break down the isolation experienced by the residents of many of the City’s Council estates, due to their poverty, ill health or caring responsibilities aggravated by their remoteness from the town centres. The most striking example of this has been the Bentilee Bureau, serving the City’s most deprived ward, and funded since 1997 by the various local bodies.
